If you are in search of western wear you can find it at Bennie’s Western Wear (205 West Main Street) Bennie’s has hats, great vintage-style cowboy shirts, and much more.

Billing themselves as “having the largest magazine selection in the state,” B&B Newsstand and Coffee Shop (309 West Main) is the perfect spot to relax with a paper and a snack.

The Royal Pyper(323 West Main Street) is a great kids store stocked with children’s apparel.

If you are looking to satisfy the sports fan, Jinxx(315 West Main) stocks a wide selection of pro sports apparel as well as a great selection of Texas Longhorn gear.

Dining

The Wellhead

There are several great dining spots downtown, offering different fare. Open for lunch only, the Garden Cafe (318 West Main St., 575-746-9030), is aptly named. Sandwiches, soups and salads are offered with delicious, fresh ingredients. You can also have dessert and an espresso, latte, or mocha.

If you have a beef craving you can get one of the best steaks offered in all of New Mexico at the Wellhead Restaurant & Brewpub (332 West Main St., 575-746-0640). Choose from one of their five specialty home made brews while sitting on the patio or watching a game inside.

Everspring Chinese Buffet (502 West Main) has become a popular hot spot in town, not only for their Asian fare but for being open on Sundays!

Piccolino’s

Where do the locals head for a great cup of coffee and a lunchtime bite? The Jahva House (105 5th Street, 575-746-994) features a knowledgeable barista and a great selection of lunch treats.

The La Fonda (206 West Main, 575-746-9411) has long been Artesia’s spot to satisfy Mexican food cravings.

Housed in a charming renovated gas station, Piccolino’s (201 N. 1st St., 575-748-1100) offers a wide selection of Italian favorites.
