Deming: Shopping & Dining
Gold Street GalleryShopping
Don’t miss two fine art galleries: Gold Street Gallery, 116 S. Gold, and the Deming Center for the Arts at the corner of Gold & Pine Streets. Both offer excellent and affordable selections in every media, from paintings to pottery.
If you are an antiques buff you will want to spend some time in the Trading Post at 114 N. Silver. You will need some quality moments to peruse a gamut of great stuff like depression glass, old weavings, books, furniture and more collectibles.

Excellent Italian fare can be found at Palma’s Italian Grill (110 S. Silver, 575-544-3100). Checkered table clothes, Dean Martin crooning in the background and the food is wonderful. The bread is flown in from New York and served with both olive oil and real butter (not the “M” word, to quote Julia Child). There is a brief, but nice wine list and a full bar. The steaks are premium Angus and the eggplant parmigiania is a highlight!

Across the street from Palmas, Campos (105 S. Silver, 575-546-0095) serves traditional Mexican fare (you are 33 miles from Mexico). Authentic and delicious!
Campos RestaurantAnother great venue for Mexican food and seafood is Irma’s (123 S. Silver, 575-544-4580). Traditional Mexican seafood dishes here are much the same as you might be served in Old Mexico.
